With only a few days until Christmas, and a few more until the New Year, it is hard to believe that we have completed almost half of our school year. When we get back from vacation the 6th grade students will begin with preparations for their Advancement Ceremony and the Kindergartners will start to look forward to their Graduation! It is unbelievable how fast time flies. With the holiday vacation approaching, I want to take this opportunity to once again thank you all for your constant support of the school. Without all of you and the support that you bring to us, we would not be able to do what we do here. We are so proud of the individuals that the students become and we are so grateful that you share the wonderful gifts that your children are with us. Take the time in these next few weeks to enjoy having your children at home with you—we will be looking forward to seeing them in 2010! |

In the month of January the first grade will be learning about winter. We will keep track every day of what the temperature and weather conditions are. We will graph and compare to see the changes in the weather throughout the month. We will slo find out what animals do to survive in the winter months. I would like to thank everyone who made a contribution to the first grade Festival of Trees and to the Advent project for Meals on Wheels. Your generosity is always overwhelming! |

With the snow and the cold weather here, please remember to send your child to school with boots, snow pants, mittens & hats. Even with boots, little feet can still get wet, so it isn’t a bad idea to send in an extra pair of dry socks—especially for those students that stay afterschool for ASG. |

The third grade prepared for the birth of Jesus with our readings from the Bible, our prayers surrounding the Advent wreath, and our Christmas play. The play was presented to our families and the school family on December 18 and it was fantastic. The children enjoyed learning about the meaning of the candles on the Advent wreath. Did you know each candle represents some different concept of Christmas? Ask a third grader and they will tell you what each candle means! The third grade is very busy learning their multiplication tables and continuing with their Independent Math skills. We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! |

The second graders have been learning about Indians. They learned how they lived and some of their customs and beliefs. They had a field trip to Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum to see Indian artifacts. They also made a story using pictures like the Indians. The second graders have finished 3 book reports so far this year. During December, they made a bookmark of their book. The students are looking forward to Christmas and the school-wide field trip to Charmingfare Farms. They have been enjoying Christmas music and learned Silent Night in sign language. |
