Mr. Mark Schwerdt, Principal

After the pastor, the principal of St. Francis School serves as the spiritual, educational, and managerial leader of the school. The principal is responsible for managing approved policies, regulations, and procedures to ensure that all students are supervised in a safe, traditional Catholic learning environment that meets the approved mission and curricula of the school.

Fulfilling the Catholic mission of the school and achieving academic excellence require that the school principal work collaboratively to direct and nurture all members of school staff and to communicate effectively with parents.

Inherent in the position are the responsibilities for scheduling, curriculum development, staff professional development, extracurricular activities, personnel management, budgeting, emergency procedures, and facility operations.

 

Ms. Sharyn Tighe, Assistant to the Principal

Under the supervision of the Principal, provides support to the principal in a wide range of office and school operations; provides support for teachers who are out; meets with staff on a monthly basis to offer assistance; helps with staff development on school protocols and emergency drills; enforces school rules and communicates behavior to parents; serves as Principal in the absence of the Principal.

 

Mrs. Christina Garand, Business Manager

The Business Manager reports to the principal and is responsible for providing financial, administrative, and clerical services. This includes processing and monitoring payments and expenditures and preparing and monitoring the payroll system. By providing these services in an effective and efficient manner, she ensures that school finances are accurate and up to date, that employees are paid in a timely and appropriate manner, and that vendors and suppliers are paid within established time limits. Additionally, she ensures for the efficient operation of the cash receipts and is responsible for the collection and record keeping of tuition and other income accounts.

 

Mrs. Amanda Bemis, School Secretary

The School Secretary fulfills the mission of St. Francis School by providing general organizational support within the framework of the school’s philosophy, organization, and policies. The School Secretary serves as a Christ-like first point of contact responsible for welcoming visitors to the school, for receiving calls and emails, and providing clerical support to the principal in the school office.
